‘This was not my dream’ — Redux House, Brazil from Pedro Kok on Vimeo.

Studio MK27 was among 100 architects who participated in the 14th Venice Biennale’s “Time Space Existence”, exhibiting their works through 5 carefully crafted videos- all of which depicted the lives of its residences in a dramatic and perhaps sarcastic tone. The narrative of the Redux House, Brazil, is produced by Pedro Kok & Gabriel Kogan who captured every detail and corner of this home with a sinister hint, provoking its audience to make sense of the architecture from a very different perspective. There is, however, some truth in the lines that despised the responsibility or the role assumed by architects- educating our clients on how they ought to live.

Thus let us ponder on our calling as designers lest we forget that the architecture of a house, a refuge, a place of soulful rest, of happiness, is, to a greater extent, a form of self-actualization for most individuals.
